When the Antritrust Division announced that Hitachi, LG, and Chunghwa, as companies, had been charged with price-fixing in the TFT market, I noted that executives were probably soon to follow. And that was right.
In February, Chunghwa executives were charged, and a couple even pleaded guilty. And this morning, the Department of Justice has announced that Hitachi’s Sakae Someya has been charged with “participating in a global conspiracy to fix the prices of Thin Film Transistor-Liquid Crystal Display … panels sold to Dell.”
